2. What Mechanico does

Mechanico is a platform that connects people. It lets:

  • drivers find a garage, send a request or book a service, follow the work and keep the history of their car;
  • garages receive requests, offer appointments, send diagnoses and follow their clients.

Mechanico is not a garage. Mechanico does not repair cars, does not set prices and does not give a warranty on the work. The repair contract is made directly between the driver and the garage.

3. Your account

  • The account is linked to a Moroccan mobile number. You sign in with a one-time code, with no password.
  • You must use your own number and give correct information.
  • You are responsible for what is done with your account. Never share your sign-in code.
  • Mechanico is for adults. [To confirm: minimum age, 18 proposed]
  • You can delete your account at any time. See Delete your Mechanico account.

Garage accounts

  • The person who creates a garage is its owner in the app.
  • The owner can invite other people (mechanics or owners). The owner is responsible for the access they give.
  • All active members of the team see the requests and the chats of the garage.
  • The garage information (name, address, position, opening hours, services, prices, photos) must be correct and up to date.

4. Rules of use

You agree not to:

  • give false information, or use another person's number;
  • send content that is insulting, threatening, discriminatory, sexual, violent, illegal or misleading;
  • publish photos or information about a person without the right to do so;
  • create false requests, false appointments or false reviews;
  • use Mechanico for unwanted canvassing or advertising;
  • disturb the service, bypass its limits or try to reach the data of other users.

You can report a garage, a review, a user or a message from the app. When you report a message, Mechanico keeps a copy of it to review it. You can also block a garage.

Mechanico reviews reports. We do not read all chats in advance.

5. Your content

You keep your rights on what you send: texts, photos, albums, voice messages, PDFs, positions, reactions, videos, reviews.

You allow Mechanico to store, display and pass them on, only to run the service. For example: show your request to the garage, show your review on the garage profile, show the garage photos to drivers.

You are responsible for your content. Mechanico can remove content that does not follow these terms or the law.

6. Chats

  • You can edit one of your messages for 15 minutes. Mechanico keeps the original text, for moderation.
  • You can delete one of your messages for everyone for 2 days. The words "Message supprimé" stay in the chat. After 2 days, you can no longer delete it.
  • You can forward only messages written by your side of the chat.
  • The other person sees if you are online, your last seen time, if you are typing, and if your messages are delivered and read.
  • If you send your position, the other person sees an exact point (about 1 meter) and the address.
  • A message can contain: text, up to 10 photos, a voice message (60 seconds at most), a PDF (10 MB at most), a position, a reaction.
  • You can report a message, or block a garage.

Chat data is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Car history

  • The driver adds work done elsewhere to the history of their car.
  • When a garage accepts a request, it sees the history of the car. This history includes the history of previous owners, if the car was transferred.
  • Your entries therefore become visible to the garages that the next owner contacts.
  • If another person claims your plate, you receive the claim. With no answer, it is refused after 7 days.

8. Reviews

  • Only a job finished in the app can get a review, from the client linked to that job.
  • A review must describe a real experience and stay polite.
  • The author can edit their review for 48 hours after it is published.
  • The garage can reply once, in public.
  • The garage can report a review. The review is hidden during the review, 48 hours at most. It is then put back online or removed. [To confirm: 48 h review time]
  • Mechanico does not change the text of reviews.

9. Role and responsibility of garages

Each garage is an independent business. The garage alone is responsible for:

  • its diagnoses, its prices and its invoices;
  • the quality of the work and the parts;
  • the warranties owed to the client by law;
  • following its professional, tax and legal duties;
  • keeping the car safe while it is at the garage.

The garage agrees not to charge more than the total the client accepted in the app, unless the client agrees again.

10. Prices and payment

  • Using Mechanico requires no payment in the app. [To confirm: pricing model for garages]
  • The prices of services and the totals of diagnoses are set by the garage. They are shown in dirhams, all taxes included, as the garage set them. Mechanico adds no fee to the price shown by the garage.
  • For a problem to diagnose, the garage sends a total. The work starts only after the client agrees. The final price cannot be higher than the accepted total, unless the client accepts a new diagnosis.
  • Payment is made directly to the garage. Mechanico does not receive your money and is not a party to the payment.
  • Does an invoice line look wrong? You can dispute it in the app. The garage is told.

11. Appointments and cancellations

  • The client can cancel for free up to 2 hours before the appointment.
  • If the client does not come, the garage can mark them as absent, 30 minutes after the end of the slot.
  • The garage can refuse a request or cancel an appointment and give a reason. The client is told.

12. Responsibility of Mechanico

Mechanico agrees to run the service with care and to protect your data.

Mechanico is not a party to the contract between the driver and the garage. So Mechanico is not liable for the work, the prices, the delays or the damage caused by a garage. If you have a problem with a garage, speak to the garage first. You can also write to us: we can review a report and take action on the garage account.

The service may stop for maintenance or because of a failure. We do our best to restore it quickly.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights that the law gives you, in particular Law No. 31-08 on consumer protection. Mechanico remains liable for damage caused by its own fault, as the law provides.

13. Suspension and closure

After review, Mechanico can remove content, hide a review, suspend a garage or close an account in case of:

  • breach of these terms;
  • fraud, false reviews or false information;
  • abusive behavior toward other users;
  • a request from an authority.

Unless it is urgent or the law requires otherwise, we explain the reason. You can write to us to challenge the decision.

14. Personal data

The processing of your data is described in the Privacy Policy. We send no marketing message without your consent.

15. Changes

We may change these terms, for example when the service changes. The update date is shown on this page. For an important change, we tell you in advance, for example in the app.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by Moroccan law. In case of a dispute, let us first look for a friendly solution: write to us at [to confirm: contact e-mail]. If that fails, the dispute goes to the competent Moroccan courts, in line with the rules that protect the consumer.
